Week 17 Recap: A Free Launch Beat the Whole Board, and Mark Came Back With Three
August 30, 2026
Submissions climbed back to 245, GhostPrompter took 22 upvotes without paying for a slot, and last week's dollar-board builder returned with three launches including the $199 Ultimate. Week 17 on Nick Launches, plus the post that found Lyra its next 25 users.
Your weekly roundup of fresh launches shaping how we work and build.
Week 17 swung back the other way. 245 products submitted, up from 200, 95 went live, and 910 upvotes cast across the week 35 board, which held at 17 featured launches. The directory crossed 1,533 live products, 300 new builders joined, 298 new subscribers landed on this list, and domain rating held at 73. Every landing page in this issue got a hand check before making the list.
The board story this week belongs to a free listing. GhostPrompter, an invisible teleprompter, took 22 upvotes and finished ahead of every launch on the board, paid or not. The paid #1 managed 17. Last issue I noted it was the third week running that the top free launch beat most of the paid section. The streak is now four weeks old, and this time it did not beat most of the board, it beat all of it. The other returning character is Mark, who put PureMoney.lol up for a dollar two weeks ago and said out loud that fifty copies were coming. This week he came back with three launches of his own, one of them on the $199 Ultimate plan.
Off the board, the account's second biggest post of the week was about a builder again. The post about Pratik and Lyra did 24,483 impressions, and the mechanic behind it, posting about the problem instead of the product, is written up below because it is the cheapest lesson in this issue.
Featured Launches 🚀
Eight Pro tier and up launches ran on this week's board of seventeen. Ordered as the week page has them, with each one's real board position, and every landing page checked by hand.
-
Lyra: 11 upvotes, #3 on the board. A Mac writing assistant that quietly fixes your
writing as you type in Mail, Slack, WhatsApp and every other app, with no window switching. It learns how you talk to
each person, casual with a friend, formal with your boss, and the everyday corrections run entirely on your machine,
offline. Free for Apple Silicon on macOS 14 and up, with a Pro tier for the advanced features. Eight months of
building before launch, and the story behind its first 50 users is further down this issue. -
BeHot: 5 upvotes, #6 on the board. A charts platform where anything can compete for
attention. Influencers, musicians and creators list their songs, gigs, brands and ideas, then boost their rankings to
get seen. The pitch is simple: a public chart for things that normally fight for reach in a feed. -
Paid Lens: 5 upvotes, #8 on the board. Connects your ad, analytics and CRM stack and
turns the mess into a ranked queue of marketing decisions: which campaigns deserve attention, where budget is being
wasted, and what to do next. Every recommendation ships with the evidence, expected impact and confidence behind it. -
TakeFirst.lol: 3 upvotes, #11 on the board. A public leaderboard where your rank is
your bid. The first listing is $1, and taking #1 costs a dollar more than the current leader, payable by card, X or
crypto. This week's only Ultimate plan launch, and there is more on it in Worth your time below. -
ThinkTime.lol: 2 upvotes, #13 on the board. Claim any of the 365 dates on a public
year wall and it is yours, every year, until someone pays 1.5x to steal it. Most days start at $1, holidays cost
more, and your date carries a name, a URL and a short note. Same builder as TakeFirst.lol, same taste for boards with
money as the score. -
beafk: 2 upvotes, #14 on the board. Run Claude Code, Codex, Grok Build and Kimi Code from one
chat on your phone, using the real CLIs on your own machine. Give one agent a job and let it delegate to the others;
sessions keep running when you close the tab, and every result and blocker comes back to one place. Uses the
subscriptions you already pay for, with no separate API bill. -
Qevra: 1 upvote, #15 on the board. A public directory where listing your site is free, with
no account and no login. Paste a URL and it publishes a page for it with a dofollow outbound link, a sitemap entry
and JSON-LD. Ads are the paid part; the listing never is. Mark's third launch of the week, and the only one without a
bidding war in it. -
HORNO Network: 0 upvotes, #17 on the board. Turns unused storage on phones, computers, HDDs and USB drives into a global decentralized infrastructure network. Join as a node, contribute storage, track rewards, and manage it from one ecosystem. Registration is free, with the native blockchain mainnet planned for late 2027.
Launch Weekly Winners 🏆
The most upvoted free launches of the week. No paid placement here, just upvotes, and this week the top of this section was the top of everything: GhostPrompter's 22 beat every paid launch on the board.
-
GhostPrompter: 22 upvotes, the top launch of the week, free or paid. An invisible
teleprompter for Windows and macOS. The transparent overlay sits above your apps, stays click-through, and is hidden
from screen recordings, live streams and video calls, so you read your script while keeping natural eye contact.
Voice-activated scrolling and built-in script management round it out. -
DeployOS: 9 upvotes. A Mac app that turns any $5 VPS into your own private cloud:
Git-based deployments, automatic HTTPS, databases, backups, monitoring and 250+ one-click open source apps, with no
monthly platform fee. New MCP support means your coding agent can inspect deployments and check server health
directly. -
Nommer: 7 upvotes. Turns any recipe into 2-player mode: it splits the work and syncs the
timing across two phones, so couples, roommates and friends can actually cook together instead of colliding at the
stove. Free on iOS and Android. -
Kionese: 7 upvotes. Pre-therapy emotional clarity in 10 minutes. Describe
your situation, answer a few guided questions, and get honest insights and actionable next steps for a relationship
problem, privately and without judgment, before you decide whether therapy is the move. -
Outcomet: 7 upvotes. Consolidates scattered customer feedback into themes, links them to
outcomes, and documents the rationale behind every product decision, so teams can defend "why we built this" long
after the meeting ended. Integrates with Jira and GitHub to keep the loop closed. -
Status Monkey: 7 upvotes. Monitors your websites around the clock and alerts you
within seconds of an outage. No dashboard theater, just the ping you actually need when things fall over. -
Builders Backlinks: 6 upvotes. Full disclosure: this one is ours. A free
backlink exchange for indie builders and small SaaS, driven from your coding agent over MCP. Your agent finds the
partner, writes the link into your repo, and we verify it went live. 62 builders are already trading links through
it, and no money moves.
Launch Builders to Watch 👀
Builders who made this week what it was. Worth a follow.
- Pratik Garg (@buildbypratik (opens in a new tab)): built Lyra for eight months before launching, then found his next 25 users in 8 days after the first 25 took 6 weeks. The change that did it is written up below. Documents the whole build in public.
- Mark Zschiegner (@MarkZofMarkz (opens in a new tab)): put PureMoney.lol up for a dollar two weeks ago and promised fifty copies were coming. This week he shipped three launches himself, TakeFirst.lol on the Ultimate plan, ThinkTime.lol, and Qevra. The man is racing his own prediction.
- Vincenzo Picciuolo (@BeHotNow2026 (opens in a new tab)): two paid launches in one week, BeHot and HORNO Network, one chasing attention charts and one chasing spare hard drives. Range.
- Chinedu Ogbo (@johnokez (opens in a new tab)): DeployOS, 9 upvotes on a free listing for a tool that turns a $5 VPS into a private cloud. The MCP support is the quiet good idea in it.
- Eldho Benny (GhostPrompter): took the top of the entire week with a free listing and a teleprompter nobody can see. 22 upvotes, no paid slot, no tricks.
Worth your time 🔎
TakeFirst.lol (opens in a new tab) is this week's Ultimate launch, and it earns the spotlight by being the purest version of an idea that has been circling this board for three weeks: a leaderboard where the ranking is simply the money. The first listing is $1. Taking #1 costs a dollar more than the current leader, by card, X or crypto, and you hold the spot until someone pays past you. No upvotes, no algorithm, no pretending. It is honest in a way that most ranking systems are not, and watching the top spot change hands is half the product.
It is also Mark's answer to his own prophecy. He said fifty copies of the dollar-board idea were coming, then went and built one of the three that actually showed up. Take a look (opens in a new tab), the current #1 might be gone by the time you do.

From the X feed this week:
This month is not over and it has already beaten the last two full months. Not by a little. Nothing changed about the product. The only thing that changed is I started posting about the paid thing again after weeks of only posting the free stuff.
Somebody is paying to sit next to your product on my directory right now. 3 builders are in the sidebar this week and none of them are me 👀
Posting the problem, not the product 🚀
Last issue was about how the account's two biggest posts ever were both about other builders. This week the pattern held, and it came with a sharper lesson attached.
The week's biggest measured post was a one line question about second launches: 25,220 impressions. Right behind it was the post about Pratik and Lyra: 24,483 impressions, out of 212,258 across the whole week. But the interesting part is not the reach, it is what the post described. Pratik's first 25 users took him 6 weeks. The next 25 took 8 days. Same app, same solo founder, bootstrapped. What changed is that he stopped posting about the product and started posting about the problem: the message you re-read four times and still are not sure about. That is the thing Lyra fixes, and it turns out people recognize their problem in a feed far faster than they recognize your product.
So the formula from last issue gets a second line. Telling someone else's story travels further than talking about yourself, and the story should be about the reader's problem, not the builder's product. Pratik did the second half on his own account and it moved his launch to #3 on the board. I did the first half by writing about him doing it.
Both posts, in full:
If your second launch went better than your first, was it the product, or was it you? 👇
The first 25 users took Pratik 6 weeks. The next 25 took ONLY 8 days. Same app. Same solo founder. Bootstrapped. What changed? He stopped posting about the product and started posting about the problem.
New Features This Week ⚡
- Sidebar sponsorships are live, and taken. Three builders are paying for sidebar space on the directory this week. The slots sat unused for most of the year; now they are a queue.
- Real testimonials, on the site. The wall of love and the founders row now run on verified testimonials from builders who launched here, collected and displayed through Senja instead of hand-picked screenshots.
- Two new guides on the blog. What SEO automation really does and Before you build another AI product, follow the traffic, both written from directory data rather than vibes.
Quick ask 🙏
Seventeen launches on the board and 910 upvotes cast this week. GhostPrompter proved the point again: 22 upvotes on a free listing beat every paid slot on the board. The median launch finished on single digits, which means five upvotes genuinely moved things. If something in this issue deserves eyes, open its page and upvote it. Ten seconds, real difference.
