About TabTotaler
TabTotaler is a drink tracker for real pours — not generic “one drink” buttons. Total the tab. Know the night. Most drink trackers ask how many drinks you had. That is the wrong question. TabTotaler knows the difference between a 12 oz beer, a 19.2 oz tallboy, and a 1.5 oz pour, with verified ABV, calories, and US standard drink counts from a catalog of 1,070 beers, wines, spirits, cocktails, and canned drinks. A 19.2 oz tallboy of an 8% IPA is more than two US standard drinks. A restaurant Cabernet is rarely the 5 oz the guidelines assume. A 20 oz draft is not a 12 oz can. If every tap is treated as one drink, the night you think you had is not the night you actually had. WHAT IT DOES Search the catalog or build a custom pour. Change quantity and serving size with a tap. Plus can scan a barcode and fill ABV, size, and calories. Every session shows two tallies: drinks logged the way you talk about them, and US standard drinks calculated from size and ABV. Calories sit next to the alcohol so you can see the night as a whole. Start a session when you start drinking. End it when you are done. Continue the same session within 10 hours if you are still out — no upgrade needed to keep logging. History keeps the drinks either way. Starting a brand-new session the same day is a Plus feature. Pro can run two sessions at once (you and a guest) and restart a slot up to three times per day. After your first drink, an interactive BAC curve appears. It is a Widmark-model estimate with uncertainty, built from what you logged — not a lab reading and not a police device. Blood alcohol can keep climbing for up to an hour after the last pour. Touch the curve to see where it is going. TabTotaler will never tell you that you are safe to drive. Log water during a session so you remember to drink water. It does not cancel the alcohol, and we do not pretend it does. The product lives in the history, not in a number checked once at 1am. See a calendar heatmap, day detail, weekly goals against CDC-style guidelines, and alcohol-free days. Plus adds unlimited history synced across devices, insights and weekday patterns, a 52-week heatmap, a session journal (venue, mood, notes), custom drink times for a more accurate curve, weekly limit reminders, CSV export, and no ads. Safety is free at every tier: ride-home links, emergency contact, alcohol-poisoning signs, and helplines. It is never behind a paywall. The app works on the device without an account. HOW A NIGHT WORKS Open TabTotaler. Start a session. Search a beer, wine, cocktail, or spirit and log the pour you actually had — pint, tallboy, shot, wine glass, or a custom size. Watch drinks logged and standard drinks update together. Add water if you want. When you are done, end the session. Your drinks stay in History. If you are still out within 10 hours, continue the same session. In the morning, Plus and Pro can show the shape of the night: heatmap, journal, recap, spend.
