Split Stl File
STL Splitter
Split big STL and 3MF models to fit your 3D printer bed

About STL Splitter
STL Splitter cuts 3D models that are too big for your printer into pieces that fit the build plate. Pick your printer from 70+ presets or enter the bed size, let it place the cuts automatically or position them by hand, and add interlocking pins so the parts line up when you glue them. Everything runs locally in your browser: files are never uploaded and no account is needed. The site also includes free tools for everyday 3D printing work: repair non-manifold meshes and holes, reduce the triangle count, scale, rotate and mirror models, measure volume and estimate print cost, convert between STL, 3MF, OBJ, GLB and STEP, and create printable models from images, SVG files and text.
What STL Splitter is used for
- Hobbyists printing cosplay helmets and props bigger than their bed
- Makers splitting large architectural or terrain models into printable tiles
- Print farms cutting customer files to fit smaller printers

STL Splitter FAQ
- Are my files uploaded to a server?
- No. Cutting, repair and conversion all run in your browser, so the model never leaves your computer.
- How do the parts line up after printing?
- The splitter can add cylinder or square pins and matching sockets with 0.2 mm clearance on every cut face.
- Which file formats does it support?
- It opens STL, 3MF, OBJ, GLB and STEP files and exports STL or 3MF.
- Do I need to know my printer's bed size?
- Pick your printer from 70+ presets, or type the X, Y and Z size yourself.

I built this because my printer was too small for the models I wanted. Pick your printer and it cuts the model into bed-sized parts with alignment pins. Runs in the browser. Feedback welcome!
