Week 14 Recap: Real Feedback, Proof Over Claims and a Pixel-Art Solar System

Updated on August 9, 2026

A free launch outranked twelve of the thirteen featured. A pixel-art solar system took #2 on Product Hunt and its buyers ignored the pricing model it was built around. Week 14 on Nick Launches, plus 20% off everything until midnight.

Nick Launches week 14 recap

Your weekly roundup of fresh launches shaping how we work and build.

Week 14 broke the slide: 238 products submitted, 89 went live, and 964 upvotes cast, the first weekly rise since the start of July. The week 32 board holds 13 featured launches. The directory crossed 1,202 live products, 297 new builders joined, and domain rating hit 71, up from 69. AstraPixels, a side project of mine, finished #2 Product of the Day on Product Hunt, and there is a section on it below because the sales taught me something I had the design backwards on. Every landing page in this issue got a hand check before making the list.

The theme running through the launches this week was proof, and specifically who does the proving. A human reading your landing page instead of a scanner scoring it. An audit that refuses to write the outreach until you confirm each finding against the source. An inventory of the accounts your identity provider cannot see. Hence the title. And the most upvoted new launch of the week cost nothing to list.

One thing before the board: the August sale ends tonight. Code AUGUST20 takes 20% off everything on the site, and it expires at 23:59 PT on Sunday, August 9. Launch plans go Starter $19 to $15.20, Pro $39 to $31.20, Premium $99 to $79.20, Ultimate $199 to $159.20. Directory submissions go $99 to $79.20 for 30+, $149 to $119.20 for 60+, and $199 to $159.20 for 100+. Paste the code at checkout on /submit/ or on the directory submission service. Already launched? Open your dashboard and add a directory boost to any live or scheduled product without touching your launch payment.

Thirteen featured launches sit on this week's board. Board order, as the week page shows it, filtered to the Pro tier and up, every landing page checked by hand.

  1. Free AI Website Audit logo Free AI Website Audit: 126 upvotes, up from 44 last week and the top of the board two weeks running. Paste a URL and find out how visible you are to AI models. It scores your AI mentions and your competition, then names the AEO and GEO signals you are missing before ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity will cite you. Sixty seconds, free.
  2. ContentBeast logo ContentBeast: 90 upvotes, up from 21. Write articles with AI the right way round: your own experience, lessons and case studies go in first, then search intent, competitor research and Google's quality bar. What comes out is the piece only you could publish, rather than the commodity output everyone else is shipping.
  3. LAUNCHED logo LAUNCHED: 40 upvotes. One page websites that are already designed. Pick a theme, edit the text, upload photos, and publish in minutes on a launched.bio link or your own domain. New themes every week, so waking up with an idea and being live by tonight is the actual pitch.
  4. Is Your Traffic Real logo Is Your Traffic Real: 37 upvotes. Paste one script and see where your paid clicks actually arrive: visitor locations, suspicious patterns and automated traffic signals across pages, funnels and whole domains. Free beta, no card.
  5. Serpverse logo Serpverse: 33 upvotes. A guest post marketplace on manually vetted sites, no fake metrics and no PBNs. Publishers have to prove they control the domain, funds sit in Stripe escrow until you approve the content inside a 72 hour window, and there is cover if a link disappears later.
  6. Ella logo Ella: 20 upvotes. An AI friend with a life of her own: a town, hobbies, a pet, opinions and a routine that carries on whether you show up or not. She sends photos from her world, reads the ones you send back, and takes voice calls. Platonic by design, never NSFW.
  7. Neeed Directory logo Neeed Directory: 19 upvotes. A curated directory of tools and products for developers, designers and makers, sorted across 40+ categories covering SaaS, developer tooling and design resources.
  8. RecoveryCodes logo RecoveryCodes: 18 upvotes. The MFA inventory your identity provider does not have. It tracks the accounts, authenticators and recovery codes that sit outside your IdP, the root accounts, banks, registrars and vendor portals, so you find out what breaks before someone loses an authenticator, not after. 14 day trial, no card.
  9. Mascot Lab logo Mascot Lab: 15 upvotes. Every AI tool redraws your character: ask twice, get two different creatures. Mascot Lab locks the design first, then returns it on-model in any pose, prop or animation you need. Generate from the web app or straight from Claude Code and Cursor over MCP, with files landing in your repo. Exports are free and the mascot stays yours if you cancel.
  10. Noonlaunch logo Noonlaunch: 13 upvotes. Another weekly launch board: submit, collect votes for a week, and keep a permanent page with a dofollow link. Free if you carry the badge, or $11 one time to skip the queue and go live the following Monday.
  11. Clip Yourself logo Clip Yourself: 13 upvotes, a third week on the board. A free Windows clipboard manager that understands audio as well as text and images, with live previews and a drag and drop shelf. Fully local, no account, no cloud.
  12. Edka logo Edka: 11 upvotes. Kubernetes provisioned inside your own cloud account, for apps, databases, observability and private agent runtimes. Edka automates the foundation, you keep the infrastructure and the direct relationship with your provider. Free for a single cluster.
  13. Assay logo Assay: 5 upvotes, and the first launch on the new Premium tier. It grades a business's AI readiness and SEO from their own page source across six checks, then refuses to build the outreach packet until you confirm every finding against the source you pasted yourself. Open source, MIT licensed.

Launch Weekly Winners ๐Ÿ†

The most upvoted free launches of the week. No paid placement here, just upvotes. This week the section needs no defending: Lutains finished on 98, the highest of any launch that started this week, ahead of twelve of the thirteen featured.

  1. Lutains logo Lutains: 98 upvotes, the most upvoted new launch of the week, paid or free. Two indie hackers read your landing page by hand, an AI deep dive on Reddit tells you what your audience actually complains about, and it comes back as an annotated Figma file with your hero section rewritten. 72 hours, $149.
  2. Origano logo Origano: 24 upvotes. Turns the recipes you already love into a full weekly menu in one click, then generates the grocery list off the back of it. Save from any site, organise your own way, share with the household. Free up to 50 recipes.
  3. EasyInvoicePDF logo EasyInvoicePDF: 13 upvotes. A free, open source invoice generator that runs in the browser. No sign up and no ads, live PDF preview, saved seller and buyer profiles, flexible tax handling and 120+ currencies.
  4. Post Ripple logo Post Ripple: 12 upvotes. Make short form video and slideshows with AI, then schedule and auto-post to TikTok, Reels, Shorts, X and LinkedIn from one calendar. There is an official MCP server, so an agent can run the whole workflow without you opening the app.
  5. Pinkk logo Pinkk: 12 upvotes. Influencer and affiliate vetting for agencies and brand teams: audience quality, traffic sources and partnership risk, returned as confidence-rated findings you can put in front of compliance instead of a hunch.
  6. AI hairstyle logo AI hairstyle: 11 upvotes. Upload a photo and try hairstyles and colours instantly, with the transformation keeping your natural features and the lighting of the original. Ten free credits to start.
  7. Launchit logo Launchit: 11 upvotes. A launch directory built around the SEO angle: a permanent, indexed page per product and a dofollow link, with upvotes and comments so a launch still feels like a moment. 460+ products launched, DR 40 and climbing.
  8. Gameaton logo Gameaton: 10 upvotes. Game recommendations by motivation rather than genre. Every title is scored across 29 dimensions from -5 to +5 with the reasoning shown, so you can chase a feeling instead of a tag, and hidden gems surface next to the obvious picks.

From the X feed this week:

AstraPixels hit #2 on Product Hunt ๐Ÿช

Not a Nick Launches launch, this one is mine. It goes in the recap anyway, because the sales contradicted the design and that is worth more to you than the placement is.

The Million Dollar Homepage sold a million pixels in 2005 and never came back. Nobody had a reason to return to it. AstraPixels is the same pitch with the dead parts designed out: a pixel-art solar system where every body sits at its real current position, computed from published orbital elements. 171 catalogued objects with sourced facts, six months of sky events ahead of you, and 3,000 procedural belt rocks at $5 each so the inventory can never sell out. A body is bought once and kept. Links get rechecked on a schedule rather than left to rot.

It launched on Product Hunt on Saturday and finished #2 Product of the Day on 288 points.

Then the part I got wrong. Five people paid on day one, $119 between them, and five of the six claimed objects were real catalogued bodies rather than the $5 procedural rocks: the Moon at $49, Geographos at $25, and Juliet, Chiron and Asteroid 999 at $15 each. The whole product was built around inventory that cannot run out. The buying said the opposite. Nobody wanted the rock that exists in three thousand identical copies, they wanted the one with a name, an orbit and a Wikipedia page behind it. Scarcity was the product, and I had spent months engineering it away.

New Features This Week โšก

Four things landed on Nick Launches this week.

  • The launch directory tracker is at 172 directories, and the NL Launch Companion is on the Chrome Web Store. Every row carries DR, traffic and backlink strength, with filters for free, freemium, paid, dofollow and badge required, and Done or Skip that stays ticked across your devices. The extension is the half that saves the day: sign in once on Nick Launches, open any directory from the list, and a panel fills every field it can find on the submission form, then syncs Done and Skip back to your tracker. Both free, no new account. Tracker at /tools/launch-directories/, extension on the Chrome Web Store.
  • All three sidebar ad slots sold this week. $49 a month each, sitting next to the homepage and every blog post, launch guide and dev resource on the site. VibeCodingList took the first one, then Is Your Traffic Real and Storey took the other two today. I never set out to sell ads, I built a page builders actually read, and a spot on it turned out to be worth something. There is nothing left to buy, so the waitlist is now the only way in: open the Advertise here link in the sidebar and you hear the moment one frees up.
  • builders/backlinks got the fix that was quietly holding it back. Matching only ever ran at the instant a site was approved, so if you missed that moment nothing looked at you again: 26 of 33 listed sites had never once been offered a match. The rerun created 13 matches in 12 seconds across 26 sites, and sites that had never been offered anything went from 26 of 33 down to 6 of 36. The exchange is still free and MIT licensed at builders-backlinks.com.
  • I am hiring one person. Reddit and Telegram, that is the whole role. Both are where builders actually live and I have no time for either. If you have done real marketing on Reddit, DM me on X.

Quick ask ๐Ÿ™

Upvotes are the whole game on a launch platform. A builder's week can turn on five of them: ranking, the winners list, this newsletter. If something in this issue deserves eyes, open its page and upvote it. Takes ten seconds, makes a huge difference.
