Hand-Curated List of Launch Directories
Finding the right AI directories to submit your AI tool or SaaS can be overwhelming. Most directory lists are outdated, filled with dead links, or promote low-quality sites that don't bring any traffic.
This is my hand-curated collection of AI directories I personally use when launching AI products. Every directory listed here is actively maintained, verified quarterly, and includes my honest opinion based on real experience submitting my own tools like PromptBuilder.
Use the filters below to find directories that match your needs - whether you're looking for free submissions, launch day visibility, or long-term SEO backlinks. Each listing includes traffic estimates, backlink quality, and submission friction so you know exactly what to expect.
How I Use This List
When I launch a new AI tool, I spend one full day submitting to directories. I start with the "Active + Free" filter and batch submissions in 30-minute blocks. My typical launch strategy: Product Hunt on Tuesday (launch day), then TAAFT, Future Tools, and AI Tools FYI for long-tail SEO. I skip dormant directories entirely and mark dead ones when I find them. This systematic approach has helped me get initial traction for every tool I've built.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a launch directory?
A launch directory is a curated online platform that lists startups, products, and tools. These directories help users discover new launches and give founders backlinks, traffic, and early adopters. Popular examples include Product Hunt, BetaList, Indie Hackers, and There's An AI For That.
Do launch directories help SEO?
Yes. High-quality launch directories provide valuable backlinks that can improve your site's domain authority and search rankings. Focus on directories with strong domain authority (DA 40+) and real traffic. Quality matters more than quantity. Five high-quality directory backlinks are better than fifty low-quality ones.
Which launch directories are best for indie founders?
For indie founders, I recommend starting with Product Hunt (launch day visibility), Indie Hackers (community engagement), BetaList (early adopters), and There's An AI For That (long-term SEO for AI tools). All offer free submissions and bring quality, engaged users who actually care about indie products.
How often is this list updated?
I personally verify and update this list quarterly (every 3 months). Each directory is checked for uptime, recent activity, and submission process changes. Last verified: December 2025. If you notice a dead link or outdated information, please let me know.
